"What a profound influence Companions has had on me. I have been involved in similar small-group programs, but always as the leader who never participated in the small group itself. This is so wonderful. I think of and describe Companions not as a 'course' but as an experience."

The Companions in Christ Series offers small groups a powerfully transforming experience in spiritual formation. All resources in the series explore classic spiritual practices, and invite participants to develop daily patterns that open their lives to a deepening relationship with God and one another. While the format remains the same throughout the volumes in the series, the content of each resource is fresh, providing diverse, imaginative settings and rich opportunities for new discovery.
Laying the Foundation
Companions in Christ, the 28-week journey, is the recommended starting place for all Companions groups. It lays the foundation on which the later resources in the series build, and establishes the trusting community in which honest sharing and growth can take place. The 28-week journey in spiritual formation moves through 5 parts: Christian journey, scripture, prayer, call, and spiritual guidance. As groups grow in these areas they develop practices to carry forward throughout their faith journey, and they encounter God in new and transforming ways. Building on the Foundation
Groups who have completed Companions in Christ, the 28-week journey, are well prepared for additional resources in the series. Their experience of classic spiritual practices and small-group community will enrich their exploration of such challenging topics as forgiveness and blessedness. Although each resource in the series is complete in itself, groups are encouraged to begin their journey with the foundational resource. Click on other titles in the series to learn more:
